About Me

April 1st, 2009

I’m a software developer living in Sydney, Australia where I do application development work through a company I own called Burmis Studio.  I’ve been developing software since I was a kid in primary school starting with Logo and BASIC on the Commodore 64.  Since then I’ve moved on to other languages, my latest favourites being JavaScript, Ruby and Erlang.

Last year I got happily married to my loving partner, and am still regularly amazed that someone would choose to spend the rest of their life with me!

I’m an avid photographer and you may notice some of my photographs in the posts on this website.  I shoot with a Nikon D200, and am dreaming of the day I’ll be able to afford a full frame sensor in my camera.  When I’m not on an official shoot I carry an Olympus Stylus 1050 SW.  It’s drop-proof, freeze-proof, and water-proof and has so far proven to be Mark-proof though only time will tell.  I’ve been fortunate enough to take photographs across Canada, The United States, Europe, India, and Australia.

My other interests are food, running, reading, and pop culture.

If you want to know more I encourage you to read this blog!
